Did you know you can make your own stamps out of things like potatoes? That's a little messy so here are stamps I made out of erasers and eraser-like carving material. I found your blog via google and wonderful to see homemade rubber stamps. Do you draw directly on to the eraser or use a transfer?
I found a wonderful technique from book called Rubber Soul. It states you can draw a design on to tracing paper, place the pencil image on the eraser, rub the back with a bone folder or spoon and instantly the image is transferred on the surface ready for carving.
I'm find it difficult to find a perfect plastic eraser as some can be grainy and come in small sizes.
Trying to carve a hamster but tool slipped and end up wasted an eraser because the back often has printed text.
My answer to you was so long I decided to make it the next blog post instead.
